Well, I've got a bit over 3000 words written for Ex Nusquam, so now I have a question for all of you lovely folks who are watching me:

Should I go ahead and post what I have here, or should I wait until a bit closer to goal (10,000 words)?

As a result of an action taken over on yGallery (over a minor issue, no suspension but removal of the work in question), I decided to see if it would be possible to tie in an idea I had with one of my drabbles.

It's gone better than I'd hoped it would.

So don't anyone be surprised if "Untitled 25-12-2006" disappears from my gallery; it's being reformatted as the opening section of my newest story "Ex Nusquam." Thus far I've gone from 149 words to 2,289 since I started working on it, and I'm thinking this one won't be any less than 10,000 words. That'll be nice, since it's been forever since I've written anything over 5,000 words that wasn't work-related!

So, yeah, that'll be coming in the near future. Sorry, Misa-fans; she won't be appearing in this one

I've been asked about it, and it's been in my head, and I finally gave in to the peer pressure (yes, I peer pressured myself. STFU -_-)

So, yes, "Falling Apart" now has a sequel. I hope that "Not Made of Steel" (the new story, and yes, it's in my gallery now) answers the questions that have been asked most: does L ever find out the truth? and if L finds out, what will he do? It also fills in my 24HT themes a bit more, so also of the good.

...my only concern now is people asking what comes next. Because, for serious? Right now, I have no bloody idea!

Oh, and to explain the mood: I posted it up on FF.net about 10:30 or so, went back to work, forgot about checking the stats on other stories until about 1:30, logged into FF.net to check those, and found that NMoS already had 20 hits and 3 reviews. In less than three hours. That kinda stuff just does not happen to me, and I'm still in a little shock over that.

Well, Death Note has officially ended (mostly) in Japan. All that's left now is for Viz to finish up the download-to-own releases and the DVD releases, as well as release Volume 12 of the manga, and it's done.

Yet it doesn't really feel done, somehow. Maybe because it's still pretty new to me, like YGO used to be, only I love the DN characters that much more. Also, maybe because I feel less guilty writing deathfic and torturing the characters' psyches than I do with YGO, who knows. Yes, I'm a bitch to the characters sometimes. Shush, y'all know you love when I do that.

But yeah. Watched the last ten minutes of Episode 37 on YouTube yesterday twice and I'm still sort of "wtf?" over L showing up. Yeah, I dig the "full circle" deal but....

And millions of L/Light fans are either weeping over the beauty of that moment, drawing up fanart, making colour bars (and no, I didn't make one but I did nick one XD), or writing post-anime fics this very instant. I can't really say much, because I have ideas bouncing about in my head too. I just wanted to commentate on it. I go more in-depth with my views on anime-vs-manga-ending in this post on the LJ community death_note if anyone really cares XD

I really, really shouldn't be amused that my two most-popular deviations are an icon I made in a fit of let's see if I can do a sepia-without-being-sepia plus a bit of red plus transparencies whee and a screencap of my monitor when I had a bright-ass lilac Yami no Yuugi/Jyonouchi wallpaper up. Right?

Anyway, new fic went up yesterday evening. Again with the Death Note, again with the 24 Hour Themes claim. And yes, don't hurt me, I killed off two-thirds of my main cast (being, as always, Misa and Light and L) and one-quarter of the supporting cast (and I'm not telling you who the supporting cast is, you'll just have to go read it!).

And hopefully at some point this weekend I'll get the Misa photoshoot done and the images uploaded. She really is gorgeous, especially in her black clothes and striped stockings and clunky silver boots
